BMO Reviews: Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken
Jonathan Black & Gold Review originally posted on April 8, 2024.
This is part of a series of Reddit posts reviewing the Bleacher Cuisine of BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. They are written under the moniker, Jonathan Black & Gold, an homage to the great LA Times food critic. These are direct reposts, however, I have added footnotes to contextualize some of the jargon that is specific to Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) fans.
It’s been a very good weekend folks. Our beloved Black and Gold vaporized those wretched fiends from Carson1. But that’s not all I had to be happy about on Saturday… let’s talk about that chicken.
My review system is simple:
I give a star ⭐️ rating (out of 5) for a general snapshot at the item.
I give a value 🌭 rating (out of 5) to snapshot its cost given the quality. Anything less than 🌭🌭🌭, I’d recommend just eating a street dog before/after instead.

Overall Review: When I entered BMO, I really wasn’t sure what I wanted. I have had this chicken in my sights, but the line has always been longer than I have wanted to wait. Saturday, the planets aligned and the line was short (I can’t think of a clever way to make this a Galaxy dig - sorry).
When you order this, you receive half a bird. Wing, thigh, leg, breast - even rib meat on the bone! Served with a mild garlic sauce & BMO’s ubiquitous side of a small mound of warm-ish waffle fries, this is one of the best values in BMO food by volume alone.
The meat was hot and fresh. It retained its temperature while I walked to my seats and raised my scarf for the lineup announcement (10+ minutes)2. The dark meat was tremendously juicy. The skin was properly crispy and wonderfully seasoned.
While I would have liked for the breast meat to have more moisture & flavor - the garlic sauce played a key role (it will be tempting to use the sauce on the fries, but I’d recommend saving it for the drier parts of the chicken). Additionally, I would have liked for the garlic sauce to have a bit more of a kick to it.
From flavor to execution, this was good rotisserie chicken - even outside of ballpark food expectations. I implore you to give this a try the next time you have a big appetite at a game. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
LAFC’s crosstown rivals, the LA Galaxy, are disparagingly referred to as Carson FC because their stadium is 30+ minutes south of downtown LA in Carson, CA.
Before every home game, fans standup holding their scarves while the stadium announcer reads the starting line up.
